Cardinal Road Levee Project Open House

Over the last couple years, we heard the neighborhood’s concerns about water seeping through the levee along Cardinal Road. Maintenance actions the District has taken to reduce the seepage haven’t been enough, so we have engaged an engineering consultant to look at alternatives and design a project to prevent this seepage and shore up the levee against rising tides. The consultant will also look at better alternatives to the ditch behind some of the homes on Cardinal Road.
We would like to kick off the process with an informal meet & greet at the stone park next to Flamingo Bridge. We’ll provide coffee and other warm drinks under a tent (rain or shine) starting at 9am on Saturday, December 7 and people can drop by anytime before 11am to chat. This way the consultant, CSW/Stuber-Stroeh, can get to know the community and understand local issues and priorities better before they dig into potential solutions.
