Starting the week of September 2, 2024, the Marin County Flood Control & Water Conservation District (District) will begin maintenance work on the Timber-Reinforced Berm (TRB), located behind privately owned backyards directly adjacent to Gallinas Creek. You may notice work crews and equipment in the Santa Venetia neighborhood during this time.
The maintenance work is expected to be completed by early November, pending weather and other unforeseeable circumstances.
At the District’s Zone 7 Advisory Board meeting on March 27, 2024, District staff presented the maintenance plan in detail. In sum, repair work will take place at different points along the TRB, addressing the highest priority points, as approved by the Zone 7 Advisory Board.
The District staff thanks the Santa Venetia neighborhood for their support as we continue our work to reduce flood risk in your community.
