Marin City Residents Participated in the First Community Meeting for Stormwater Plan

Posted on July 10, 2023

Map produced by first community meeting for Marin City Stormwater Plan.

Community engagement is key to getting the information necessary to create flood risk reduction options for Marin City, an unincorporated neighborhood near Richardson Bay! The Marin County Flood Control and Water Conservation District obtained great input from the community during the June 1st community meeting at Martin Luther King Jr Academy. The input will help develop a Stormwater Plan which will identify specific options for flood risk reduction in Marin City. At the meeting, community members stepped up and got involved, participating in a mapping exercise and optional walking tour of the upper watershed areas.

To learn what happened at the meeting, you can find all June 1st community meeting materials, including results of the map exercise, on the ‘documents’ page. Additionally, the summary from the April 2023 Task Force meeting can be found in that same documents section. If you prefer to see the map from the June 1st community meeting in person, the map exercise is available in hardcopy format at the Marin City Community Services District office. The next community meeting will be in early 2024, so please stay tuned and remember to register for email updates for the next community meeting.
